Muhammad Iqbal

Muhammad Iqbal, born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot, a city in western Punjab, was a prominent Pakistani poet and philosopher. His father was Iqbal, son of Sheikh Nur Muhammad, who was nicknamed Sheikh Tathu, meaning Sheikh with the nose ring. He passed away on April 21, 1938.
