Every book here has an age rating.
Like a film rating, it is a quick way to see who a book suits before you open it. It is advice from us, not a lock, and the choice stays yours.
Why we added ratings
Drawn books are often taken for children's books, but the stories on Sutur range from a sea adventure for young readers to an epic with fights, drinking and grief. A rating says which is which.
Parents and teachers can filter the library by age and open only books that fit, and every book says in a line why it has its rating.
The pictures are drawn without gore or sexual scenes, but the story in the text still counts. We rate the story, so a gentle drawing never hides a grim tale.
What each rating means
Ratings are cumulative: a 12+ book is also fine for older readers.
Nothing to worry about for any reader.

How we choose a rating
A rating comes from the text: how much violence, fear, drinking or drugs, desire and heavy subject matter it holds, not from how soft the drawing looks.
One dark theme is enough to raise a book, even if the rest is gentle.
Under the summary, "Content notes" lists what to expect, for example violence and fights, or peril at sea.
Ratings are advisory. They are not an official or legal classification and no authority has set them.
How to use them
Every book cover shows its rating, and the book page repeats it with the content notes.
Under "Age" in the library, pick a rating to see only books up to that rating. Books without a rating are left out while you filter.
We do not ask for or keep anyone's age. Parents and readers decide what to open.
Disagree with a rating?
If a rating feels wrong, or a book needs a clearer content note, tell us. We read every message and review the book again.
An advisory rating set by the publisher, not a legal classification.
