Nelly Hanna

Nelly Hanna is an Egyptian historical researcher specializing in Ottoman history in the Arab world, middle-class housing in 17th and 18th century Cairo, economic history, and urban history. As of 2021, she holds the position of Professor and Chair of Arabic and Islamic Civilizations at the American University in Cairo.
