Candide is parted from Cunégonde and crosses to America, where he kills her brother and flees, then reaches Eldorado, whose streets are paved with jewels. He leaves this paradise to win back his sweetheart, meets the pessimist Martin and sails with him to France.

Age rating: Ages 16 and up. Content notes: A satire with betrayal, theft, killing and cruelty; nothing gory.
