Philosophy

Zadig is exiled from Babylon and heads for Egypt, where he defends a beaten woman and is sold as a slave to an Arab merchant. In bondage his wit saves a widow from being burned and settles merchants' quarrels, until he escapes the priests of the stars and falls into the hands of a robber.
